DRM - Dauphine Center for Research in Management

DRM, the Dauphine Center for Research in Management, is dedicated to theoretical and applied, quantitative and qualitative research in all areas of management including marketing, strategy, finance, organizational theory, human resource management, information systems, accounting, control, and audit.

DRM counts over 230 members including 75 faculty and CNRS researchers and 142 PhD students, who work on research in three focus areas: Finance, Marketing and Organization.

DRM Finance team carries out both theoretical and empirical research in Market Finance, Banking, Corporate Finance, and Financial Accounting. The DRM Dauphine Finance team comprises 20 faculty members and research fellows and over 20 PhD students.

Focus areas for research in Finance:

  • Asset valuation, distribution of wealth, investment performance
  • Microstructure and the analysis of market inefficiencies
  • Corporate finance, financial information, financial intermediation

LEDa - Dauphine Research Center for Economics

LEDa, the Dauphine Research Center for Economics, brings together all Dauphine Economics faculty and researchers around shared topics in theoretical and applied research. Projects are divided into 5 focus areas, each with a dedicated research team:

  • Financial Economics, SDFi team
  • Energy and Climate Change Economics, CGEMP team
  • Development Economics and Globalization, DIAL-UMR IRD team
  • Health Care and Welfare Economics, LEGOS team
  • Public Economics, Contract Theory, Game Theory, JEP team

The SDFi team focuses its research primarily on Finance with a scope of investigation including Financial Macroeconomics (intertwining of the financial economy and the real economy), the Dynamics of Economic Systems and Policies, and Financial Engineering (analyzing innovation in finance as constituting the financial sector's response to changing individual and group behavior).

IRISSO – Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in the Social Sciences

IRISSO, the Dauphine Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in the Social Sciences, is a joint CNRS-Université Paris-Dauphine-PSL research center that brings together sociologists, political scientists and economists, including 32 Dauphine Professors and lecturers, 15 CNRS researchers, 2 CNRS Project Managers and 25 PhD students.

IRISSO devotes its work to studying the organization, interaction and evolution of Public and Private Regulation. IRISSO analyzes economic phenomenon, markets and public policy from a sociological perspective.

IRISSO's work in the field of Finance, under the heading "Finance, Markets, and Society", is organized around three main focus areas:

  • Public Finance and Private Finance
  • Institutions, Regulations and Finance Professionals
  • Social History of Economic Thought and Policy

CR2D – Dauphine Law institute

CR2D, the Dauphine Law institute, carries out research on the role of the Law as an economic regulator in domestic, European and international business development, on the legal aspects of wealth and asset management for businesses and high-earning individuals, on corporate legal structures and governance, and on corporate taxation as well as other topics such as competition, corporate concentration and corporate real estate law. CR2D privileges studies where economics and management issues predominate; their work takes into account both management and stakeholder perspectives.

Research projects involving Finance can be divided into two categories:

  • Alternative Conflict Resolution and Economic, Financial and Banking Regulation – coordinated by Claudie Boiteau and Antoine Louvaris
  • Financial Regulation and the Global Financial Crisis – coordinated by Annick Perrot-Bienvenu  covering:
    - Transversal Analysis of the Global Financial Crisis
    - Financial Instruments and the Global Financial Crisis
    - Disputes and Litigation Arising from the Global Financial Crisis
    - Changes in Corporate Tax Law and the Global Financial Crisis

CEREMADE - Center for Research in Decision Mathematics

CEREMADE, the Center for Research in Decision Mathematics, is a joint CNRS-Université Paris-Dauphine research center in Applied Mathematics. CEREMADE is dedicated to the study of mathematical applications for a broad range of sciences including economics, finance, image and signal processing, data analysis and classification theory, mathematical physics, mechanics, epidemiology, and astronomy.

CEREMADE focuses its research on the mathematical aspects of the sciences: mathematical analysis, numerical calculations, and implementation assistance in collaboration with the business and economic communities.

The center has a permanent team of approximately 60 faculty and university researchers divided into 3 main research groups:

  • Mathematics for Economics and Finance (Mathematical Economics and Financial Mathematics)
  • Nonlinear Analysis, Image Processing and Scientific Calculation
  • Probability and Statistics.

The research group focusing on Mathematics for Economics and Finance is a unique concentration of cutting-edge expertise in Stochastic Analysis, Applied Mathematical Economics and Financial Mathematics, and Game theory.

LAMSADE - Center for Research in Decision Systems Analysis and Modeling

LAMSADE, the Center for Research in Decision Systems Analysis and Modeling, carries out research in decision support, operational research, business intelligence systems, decision theory, and artificial intelligence. Projects are directed at all stages of decision modeling from design and development through implementation and validation. Application areas for LAMSADE research are vast and diverse: transportation planning, scheduling, tender offer assessment, on-board comfort in trains, social acceptance of hydrogen-based technologies or telecommunication networks.

LAMSADE looks at both macro and micro issues. The team is recognized for having developed an innovative multi-criteria approach to decision aid, for its methodology combining algorithmic and axiomatic approaches and for having founded the field of "Algorithmic Decision Theory".

The "Algorithmic Big Data" group works on projects in five main areas:

  • Game Theory
  • Optimization for Machine Learning
  • Equitable  Allocation of Resources
  • Web Service
  • Statistical Process Control
